We purchased a couple of these with the intent to use them as a dog tracking devices. We live on a farm without a perimeter fence and both dogs are known for venturing away from home. So we thought this would be the best choice for us. However we found that it is only effective when the dog is in very close proximity (100 feet or less) to you. Otherwise when the dogs take off it always fails to locate them, stating “unable to connect”. Both dogs have ran off several times since we’ve purchased these and not one time have they helped to recover them! Very disappointed and thinking about taking them off and throwing them away.

We decided to test it so my wife put it in her purse on her trip to the grocery store and other stores. It’s been 30 minutes and it shows it hasn’t left the house. Then 45 minutes later my wife got a notification she was being tracked. I received an alert the device was moved and showed a single location in an hour long trip. It was very easy to hook up but it DOES NOT GIVE REAL TIME LOCATIONS. There is a 40 minute to 1 hour delay and it doesn’t update or give all locations. It said only one location that I was at first for a few hours and never updated that I went to other locations. This is kind of pointless for tracking your car of someone steals it.
