Great value for peace of mind
I live in Kansas City, where unfortunately there is a huge amount of car theft and break ins. My last car was stolen, so when I got a new car that did not have GPS tracking I knew I needed to find an after market tracker just in case this car was stolen too. This was one of the less expensive GPS tracking devices on Amazon that plugged directly into the car and did not require charging, which was important to me so that there wasn’t a time my car wasn’t being tracked while the device had to charge. This was also one of the least expensive monthly subscriptions and did not require a contract or for me to pay annually, so if I decided I didn’t need it I wouldn’t spend more money on the subscription than necessary. The device it’s self was extremely easy to install, you literally just plug it in. I don’t know anything about cars, I can barely figure out how to open the hood of my car and I was able to install the tracker in less than 30 seconds. After plugging it in, it took about 10 minutes for the signal to register and it has been working flawlessly ever since. The app is not incredibly sophisticated, but is user-friendly and accurate. The only drawback I have noted so far is that when the device is installed it is not as discrete as I would have hoped, anyone who knows what a tracker looks like would easily be able to locate and remove it if the stole the car, but I supposed that would be the case with any tracking device. I included a photo so you can see what it looks like when it is plugged into the car. Overall for the peace of mind it has given me it was definitely worth the cost. I have recommended this to my friends and family in Kansas City. You spend so much money to buy a car and fuel it and repair it and insure it that it is definitely worth the extra $30 to make sure that if it is stolen that you could find it.

OPTIMUS OBD GPS TRACKER IS THE BEST!
i’m not one for leaving comments but i am impressed with Optimus. I have used competitors (SpySpotGPS, SpytecGPS and Brickhouse Security). Optimus is clearly superior. You plug in the OBD under your car steering wheel, log-in your device’s IMEI number and within minutes you are easily tracking on your phone. The cost is cheaper than competitors without hidden costs and without contract. It plugs into the OBD so no batteries are needed. You are told when the car starts its engine but isnt moving, you are told car speed and the exact address of each parking location. The tracking map is easy to manage & navigate. The Geofence is reliable sending text messages or e-mails when your device enters or leaves a designated area. The competitors never notified me of Geofence events. Plus it is easy to cancel. A competitor, Brickhouse Security had no call back number or any contact information to cancel their Automatic monthly renewal so i resorted to cancelling my credit card to cancel my subscription with this shady competitor Brickhouse. I’m a repeat buyer of Optimus products and highly recommend.

Accurate and Helpful
Has signal just about everywhere and worked for what I needed it for. I just wish it fit in the obd2 slot a little better so the cover would go back over it.

It forces you to use Apple Maps
Yeah it works great so far… up until you discover that if you want to navigate to your car, it automatically forces you to use Apple Maps.Nuuuupe. Absolutely not.No, there is no option in the menu to use Google Maps instead, either. As we all know. There is literally no one on the planet (besides maybe Karen) that ever wants to deal with Apple Maps for anything. Ever. There is a reason why it’s immediately deleted off every iPhone and replaced with Google Maps instead. Because Apple Maps is absolutely nothing but rage-inducing, pure, hot garbage.Oddly enough, the main screen map from the app uses Google Maps, but YOU can’t use Google Maps to track down your stolen car- they can, you can’t- which more than likely if you ever have to rely on Apple Maps for that job, just say goodbye to your car because it’ll probably lead you to a Nickelback concert or something just as stupid instead. This product would be perfectly fine except this one crucial detail that makes or breaks the product you’re selling. One star. Just for this. I would give it negative stars if I could. I’m highly considering returning it and going for a competitor that has enough common sense to add the option for Google Maps.Oh, also, great idea on a continuous charge through the OBD port, but I keep hitting it with my foot getting in and out of the car, or my knee while driving. It needs to be shorter in size. It protrudes out from under the dash where someone will notice it.

Kills battery over night.
AI have bought 2 of these. One works perfect. The other has started to give false notifications. It’s become worse over the past month that it kills the battery overnight. I have switched the units and whichever vehicle it is in, it falsesand kills the battery overnight.
