Works perfectly with Samsung devices
The Galaxy SmartTag 2 is very easy to set up and works flawlessly with Samsung phones. Tracking is accurate, and the app makes it simple to locate items like keys or bags. I also like the strong signal and reliable alerts.Battery life is solid, and overall performance has been very consistent. If you already use a Samsung device, this tracker is extremely useful and does exactly what it promises.Highly recommended for Samsung users.

When the Mazda app subscription free trial expired, I needed something to track my vehicle where there wasn’t a monthly service fee. In comes the Galaxy SmartTag2. I have a Galaxy phone so it was a no brainer. The tracking works as advertised and setting it up was seamlessly. When the device is near your phone or at least within the range of the bluetooth, it’ll track the location almost exactly. But if it is out of the range of your phone, it’ll ping nearby Galaxy phones to approximate its location which is usually accurate. Works best if the device is stationary.

Works for keychains not good for cars
Works as expected for household items like keychains or wallets or petsBut if you use it for your car it will not show correct location and will not be able to locate it.It depends on other Samsung/Android devices to help locate it. So if no Android device is nearby it doesn’t respond, and cannot locate it.

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2
Good product, okay concept. It requires Bluetooth connection to show you it’s location, meaning someone with a Bluetooth device, that also as GPS on it, would need to pass close enough, for if to ping it’s location to you. The up side is, it as God like battery life. The battery lasts up to a year+, and you can extend the battery life on power saving mode, to make it last even longer.

They work just as promised, and great price!
Great tags and work as promised! Very easy to set up. All I had to do was pull the blue tab out, a pairing request popped up on my phone and opened smartthings. It also notified of an update. You can change the ringtone and volume in the app as well. Its pretty loud, 105 db, which is about the decibels as many car alarms. However, its a tiny speaker, so don’t expect it to sound as loud as a car alarm! As far as quality, of course, they’re Samsung! Very durable and small enough to hide it in a purse, or even a wallet. If you’re using for keys you won’t need an additional key ring, it pretty much has one built into it. And its not bad looking either. You can get various protective covers for them as well. I highly recommend, especially at the current price reduction! Please know your tech products… I’m seeing bad reviews (not just for this item, but many) based on finding the tags when their phone isn’t close enough to the tags. The location does not update until you are within the tags bluetooth range OR until another Samsung device grabs its location (meaning any other Samsung device belonging to anyone is near by, it automatically pings its location and then you immediately get the update).Furthermore, the reviews saying they went [x amount of feet (like 300) in the wrong direction] and its not picking up the tag, if you’re retracing your footsteps for a lost item, you’ll find it, so why would you go somewhere you were not to begin with? Illogical reasoning and illogical testing (also, what barriers could have been obstructing the signal, etc). And if an item was stolen, your hidden tag WILL ping once the signal is grabbed. Please stop giving bad reviews because you didn’t research what you purchased and have no idea how it actually works.S/n: there are apps made by android developers that may bypass both the restriction to use these tags with other android phones, and the ability to find with locators other than via smartthings. However, I wouldn’t base buying an item like this off of using a 3rd party app (especially if little is known about the app), and can also be removed at any moment.

Never Lose Your Keys Again
There’s nothing more frustrating than spending twenty minutes searching for your keys when you’re already running late. This SmartTag2 has completely eliminated that problem for me. It’s a simple device that does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it does it really well. The tracking accuracy is impressive. When you use the app to find your tagged item, it gives you directions and shows how far away you are. As you get closer, the signal gets stronger, and you can trigger the SmartTag to make a sound. The sound is loud enough to hear even if your keys are buried in a couch cushion or under some papers. The whole process of locating something takes seconds instead of minutes.Setup was incredibly easy. You just open the SmartTag in the app, press the button, and it pairs with your phone automatically. The whole process takes maybe thirty seconds. Once it’s connected, it shows up in your SmartThings app alongside any other Samsung devices you have. The interface is clean and intuitive – you can see all your tags at once and tap any of them to start tracking.Battery life is excellent. These run on standard replaceable batteries that last for months. When the battery gets low, the app notifies you, so you’re never caught off guard. Being able to replace the battery yourself rather than having to buy a whole new tracker is both economical and environmentally friendly. The battery compartment is easy to access, and swapping in a new battery takes just a moment. The build quality feels solid. It’s compact and lightweight, but it doesn’t feel fragile or cheap. The button on the front has a good tactile response, and the whole unit feels like it can handle being on a keychain and getting jostled around daily. It’s got some weather resistance too, so you don’t have to worry about it getting caught in the rain. The range on the Bluetooth connection is better than I expected. You can locate items from a decent distance away, and the connection stays stable. If you do go out of range, the app shows you the last known location on a map, which is incredibly helpful if you left something at a friend’s house or in your car.One of the coolest features is the lost mode. If you can’t find your item and you’re not near it, you can mark it as lost in the app. Then, if any other Samsung device comes near your SmartTag, you’ll get an anonymous notification with its location. Given how many Samsung phones are out there, this network effect makes it much more likely you’ll recover lost items. You can also use the SmartTag to find your phone. Just double-press the button on the tag, and your phone will ring even if it’s on silent. This has saved me countless times when I’ve misplaced my phone somewhere in the house. It’s a simple feature, but it works perfectly and gets used all the time. The attachment options are practical. It’s got a hole for a keyring that’s sized right – not so big that it looks awkward, but large enough to fit standard keyrings and attachments easily. The tag sits flat on a keychain without adding a lot of bulk. You barely notice it’s there until you need it.Integration with Samsung’s ecosystem is seamless. If you’ve already got Samsung devices, this just works with everything you have. The SmartThings app becomes your central hub for finding all your stuff. You can even set up automation with other smart home devices if you want to get creative. The precision finding works really well when you’re close to your item. The app switches to a more detailed view that shows you the direction and distance, helping you zero in on exactly where something is. It’s like a metal detector for your keys, and it makes finding things quick and frustration-free.For the price, this is an outstanding value. You’re getting reliable tracking technology that actually works consistently. When you consider how much time it saves and how much peace of mind it provides, it’s easily worth the investment. Losing important items is stressful, and this completely eliminates that stress. If you’re someone who frequently misplaces things or just wants the security of being able to track important items, the SmartTag2 is a must-have. It’s reliable, easy to use, and it genuinely solves the problem it’s designed to address. I can’t imagine going back to not having these on my important items.
